Address Gun Violence in Cities: As president, Barack Obama would repeal the Tiahrt Amendment,
which restricts the ability of local law enforcement to access important gun trace information, and give
police officers across the nation the tools they need to solve gun crimes and fight the illegal arms trade.
Obama and Biden also favor commonsense measures that respect the Second Amendment rights of
gun owners, while keeping guns away from children and from criminals who shouldn't have them.
!ey support closing the gun show loophole and making guns in this country childproof. !ey also
support making the expired federal Assault Weapons Ban permanent, as such weapons belong on
foreign battlefields and not on our streets.



So here we are...what are we going to do?

First off it sickens me every time they use the phrase "gun crime". If a person is murdered with a knife is it a "knife crime"? They use this wording to constantly associate the word "gun" with "crime", thus demonizing the weapon and inadvertently making the criminal less culpable.
No matter what we do we can not change their hearts and minds of this fact.

What we need to do is get much more involved. If you have not already joined the NRA you must now. Hold to your principles and vote them in EVERY election. Local, State, and National. If you have a congressman who votes in gun laws, democrat or republican, get them voted out of office. I would rather kick a deadbeat republican to the curb than to allow them to barter away my 2nd Amendment rights for some pork barrel money.

We must do what we can to prevent things from going too far. Fight for our rights now, make a stand before it demands an elevated course of action.

I want to get more involved than I am. what kinds of ideas are out there for getting more involved? Are there groups I can join to help the cause? We need to do more politically before this goes too far.
