Fourth from the left is the .224 BOZ. Originally designed by a British defense company. Looks like a baby short magnum. 5.56, 5.7x28, 9x19, .224 BOZ, 7.62x25, 7.62x25, 5.45x18 Soviet, 5.7x28, 5.7x28 in that picture.
I wanted to pick up one of B&T's new TP9 pistols, but at $1200 for a large 9mm handgun, I balked. I think it'd be fun, but I have a mess of other 9mms I already don't shoot! Though, B&T was working on a derivative of the TP9/TMP that was chambered in HK's 4.6x30 round but discontinued the project. That I'd buy!
Interestingly, 4.6 became available on the commercial market not long ago. Weirder, there's nothing available in the non-mil world that fires it. I wonder if HK will be releasing either the much shushed UCP pistol or a civilian MP7A1 at SHOT? Hmm...I already have FN 5.7 stuff, but I'd welcome another PDW round. I love the concept of personal defense weapons.
But, uh, back on topic, the "6.5 Kent" or "6.5 TPD" sounds pretty cool. Necked down 10mm would make it something in the ballpark of 6.5x25mm. Interested to see what sort of fun you have with it! |
I did it for fun and 6.5x25 is about what it comes to. 6.5 LIK, and old nickname. LIK, you may remember when you scored big on asteroids you had three letters you could put in...L I K, I would put in these. A harmless nickname from a time of near zero double entendre. |
Astroids! .... man thats an old game ...... Showing your age there Kent! |
